Edward P. Collier of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Monday, April 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. He was 85 years old. Edward was born March 20, 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Leo W. Collier and the late Jane Mae Collier (nee - Reynolds). He is the beloved husband of Eileen (nee Duffy) Collier; father of Patti McLeod and her husband David and Edward J. Collier and his wife Michele; grandfather of David E. McLeod and his wife Melanie, Matthew J. McLeod and his wife Megan, Kevin E. Collier, and Edward A. Collier; brother of Marie Burkus and her husband Dan, the late Margaret Meskill and her husband the late Joseph, the late Doris Praediger, the late Patricia Green and her husband the late Roy, the late Virginia Ann Keppol and her husband the late Edward, and the late James Leo Collier; brother in law of Patricia Sinnott, Mary McDevitt, the late Edward and Margaret Prendergast and their children Edward Prendergast Jr. and his wife Cathy, Kathleen Kurtas, Anne Gooch and her husband Jim, Peg Tazewell and her husband Johnathan, and the late Michael Prendergast and his wife Fran. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ed was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia where he attended Girard College. Ed went on to serve in the United States Army towards the end of the Korean War from 1955 to 1963. Once discharged, he reconnected with, his sister Dot’s friend Peggy’s sister, Eileen and they were married June 29, 1963 at St. Martin of Tours Parish. Ed was an avid gardener and loved his pet dogs and cats. Ed also loved his Philadelphia sports teams including Penn State and Villanova College. He worked as a truck driver in Teamsters Local #500 during his working career. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and colleagues.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. His graveside service, with military honors, followed at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Holy Redeemer Hospice - Holy Redeemer Health Systems, 521 Moredon Road, Second Flr., Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
