Nicholas J. Pileggi Jr. of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his home. He was 98 years old. Nick was born June 18, 1923 in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, son of the late Nicola Pileggi and the late Antoinette Pileggi (nee - Giampa). He is the beloved husband of the late Rena Pileggi (nee Mattson); father of Marie A. DeBoer, John M. Pileggi and his wife Laurie Ferguson, and the late Nicholas J. Pileggi III and his wife Susan; grandfather of Michelle L. Wizov, Christine L. Frizzle and her husband Andrew Hegyi, Gina A. Pileggi, Nicholas J. Pileggi IV, and Jaclyn McCollum and her husband Ryan; great grandfather of Sammy Wizov, Charlotte Wizov, Jake Wizov, Nicholas J. Pileggi V, and Dean Pileggi, Holden Pileggi, Gionni Pileggi, Ella Hegyi, and Lillian McCollum; brother of Catherine Campbell and her husband Warren, the late Angeline Pulli, the late Mick Pileggi, the late Frank Pileggi, the late Anthony Pileggi, the late Pauline Pileggi, and the late Mary Damato.

Nick proudly served in the United States Army during World War II from January of 1943 until December of 1945. He participated in the Ardennes Rhineland Central Europe Campaign. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. His decorations included: American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon with 3 bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.

Nick was a concrete truck driver during his working career. He drove for Delaware Valley Concrete Company, his own business - Pileggi Trucking, and James D. Morrissey, Inc.

After returning from military service in Europe, Nick headed back to Willow Grove where one day, while driving around he saw Rena Mattson, the love of his life. The two were married January 3, 1949 at St. David Church by Father John Gallagher. They raised their family in Willow Grove. Nick and Rena both loved to spend time with their growing family and taking care of their grandchildren.
Nick loved spending time outside in the sunshine tending to his beautiful gardens, real and fake. 

Relatives and friends were invited to his graveside service on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038. Please gather at the stone building inside of the Cheltenham Avenue entrance.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Lawrence F. Crehan, pastor of Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038.
