David Lee Hauer of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. He was 76 years old. David was born February 2, 1946 in Loma Linda, California, son of the late William Hauer and the late Margaret Hauer (nee - Bauerlin). He is the beloved husband of Mary (nee Scutella) Hauer; father of Donna Hauer, Linda Harvey and her husband Jim, and Joseph Hauer; grandfather of Meghan, Abigal, and Elizabeth Harvey; brother of Jeanne Legner. He is also survived by his great-grandson, many nieces, and nephews.

Dave was a proud graduate of Penn State. He joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and served honorably as a Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War until his discharge in 1972. He worked for many years at the Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia. Dave loved everything sports, from live games to fantasy drafts. He was a lifelong learner, reading, bible study, and crosswords. He would volunteer his time for shut in’s and where ever needed, delivering food and spending time with others. He adored his wife Mary and would enjoy spending time with his “dream girl”.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Church, 8320 Brookside Road, Elkins Park, PA 19027. His graveside service followed with military honors rendered by the United States Air Force at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Efren V. Esmilla from St. James Church.
