Eleanor E. Fischer of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania died Suddenly, Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health. She was 86 years old. Eleanor was born December 18, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late William and Emilie Stiess. She is the beloved wife of the late Alfred Joseph Fischer; mother of Fred Haegele and his wife Chris, Kathy Miller and her husband Robert, Susan Fabry and her husband Robert, Carolyn Hoelzle and her husband Michael; grandmother of Christine Miller, Edward Miller, Stephen Miller, Michael Haegele, Lynn Patterson and her husband Zachary, Eric Hoelzle, Amanda Schmidt, and Timothy Fabry; great grandmother of Madison Miller, Braydon Miller, Hope Fabry-Jansen and Jace Schmidt; sister of Harry Stiess.
Eleanor was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia, PA. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Eleanor and Alfred met while working together at Rohrer Pharmaceutical. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was proud to serve her community for over 20 years as a volunteer with the Bryn Athyn Fire Company. She responded to calls day or night as an EMT on the ambulance squad and also as a member of the fire police. Eleanor was a talented musician who enjoyed sharing her love of music an a church organist, choir member, and choir director for the New Apostolic Church.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at New Apostolic Church - Willow Grove, 201 Krewson Terrace, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
Religious services were conducted by Matthew Hoelzle from New Apostolic Church - Willow Grove.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to New Apostolic Church - Willow Grove, 201 Krewson Terrace, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
