Joan A. Kornse of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, July 30, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Manor. She was 88 years old. Joan was born June 11, 1934 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late George Kornse and the late Alice Kornse (nee - Glase).
Joan graduated from Olney High School. She was a longtime employee of Exide, where she was an account manager for battery sales. After Exide, she worked in the office at Lawncrest Realty until retirement.
Joan was fanatical about German Shepherds, especially her beloved dog Lucky. Joan loved traveling, and greatly enjoyed her trips to many places, particularly Europe. Joan was a lifelong fan of music (especially Mario Lanza, Andrea Bocelli, and Frank Sinatra). She loved shopping, dining out at fine restaurants and Dunkin Donut coffee! She enjoyed many meals with her family at the Country Club Diner! Joan was passionate about football and politics, and closely followed current events and every pass thrown by Nick Foles and her number one man Tom Brady. Above all else, however, Joan loved spending time with her family. Her greatest joys in life were her lifelong partner Joe, and her great-niece Joie, who she loved with all her heart.
Joan is survived by her partner of over 50 years, Joe Corvi; a niece, Alison Wicher; a great-niece, Joie Wicher; and Charles (Robin) Howe.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved nephew, Joseph Wicher Jr.; and her sister, Janice Wicher.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, PA 19047. Her graveside service followed at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047.
