The following obituary was composed by Michelle’s family.

Mrs. Michelle Wasserman (nee – Beyda), most recently of Tamarac, Florida and formerly of Warrington, Pennsylvania and Glenview, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Broward North Hospital in Deerfield Beach, Florida. She was 77 years old.

Michelle was born on December 2, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Jack Beyda and Selma Beyda (nee – Husney). She was the loving wife of the late Gerald Wasserman; mother of Adam Wasserman and his wife Kate and Tara Blum and her husband Andrew; and nana to Jack and Sage Wasserman and Mia and Noah Blum. She is also survived by a loving extended family (including Renèe and Jerry Goldsman and Judy and Mark Rubin), many cousins, friends, and her beloved Morkie, Sophie.

Michelle was raised in Chicago and its suburbs. On June 20, 1971, she married Jerry Wasserman in Chicago where their family settled for more than 30 years. During that time, Michelle worked at Dee Dee’s daycare, North Suburban Clinic, and the Apparel Center, as a school aid, and as a travel agent (which was definitely her favorite job). Michelle and Jerry returned to the suburbs of Philadelphia in 2000, where she lived for the next 20+ years.

Throughout her life, Michelle was known for her devotion to family, her fierceness, her Syrian cooking (including grape leaves and lahamagine), and her love of travel.

Relatives and friends were invited to Michelle’s graveside service, at 11am on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Shalom Memorial Park, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. The memorial service was conducted by Rabbi Glenn Ettman from Congregation Or Ami.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made Michelle’s memory to the Humane Society of Broward County

A reception was held at the home of Judy and Mark Rubin in Southampton, PA.
