Elizabeth (Betty) Rufe of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully Friday, September 2, 2022 at her home. She was 90 years old born on February 18, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Herman Weiss and the late Edith Weiss (nee - Brown). She is the mom of Michael Rufe and his wife Sarah, Diane Saurman (Jay), Thomas Rufe who preceded her in death and his wife Heidi, David Rufe and his wife Laurie, Nancy Tartaglia (Jeff); grandmother of Michelle (Steed), Allison (Drew), Glenn, Laura (Zac), Devin, Steven, Ashley (Jillian), Melissa, Eric, Shawn who preceded her in death and Shea; great-grandmother of Caitlin, Alexandra, Jackson, Rosabelle, Evelyn and Ryan; sister of the late Herman Weiss, the late Mary Jane Wilson, the late Paul Weiss his wife Nancy, and Edith Nixon; aunt to many nieces and nephews; and loving companion of over twenty years to the late John Phelps.

Betty was born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania. In 1960, she moved to Willow Grove to raise her family. She started her career working for her father at Weiss Florist in the center of Easton. After raising her children she continued her career as a floral designer at LeRoy’s Florist in Hatboro and then Kremp Florist in Willow Grove, from where she retired. Betty loved to travel, particularly family vacations to the beach. She also loved picnics, parties, birthdays, and holiday gatherings. She enjoyed playing card games including Uno, Skip-Bo, and Triominos, she also loved decorating Christmas trees, crafting, and coloring. She had a strong faith and commitment to her church, and was a longtime parishioner at St. David Roman Catholic Church. Most of all Betty loved and cherished being with her family.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. David Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at 1:30 at P.M. St. Joseph’s New Cemetery, Williams St and Sampson St, Easton, PA 18042.
