The following obituary was written by Michael’s family.

Michael Patrick Wadlinger of Philadelphia, PA passed away Sunday, Oct 2, 2022. He was 69 years old. Mike was born on May 17, 1953. He is the son of the late Edward Matthew Wadlinger Sr. and Marguerite Theresa Wadlinger (née Hamilton).

Mike is the beloved husband of Eileen Rohrer Wadlinger, proud father of Kelly Conard (née Wadlinger) (Stew Conard) and Meghan Wadlinger, and “Poppy” to his grandson Patrick Conard. He is brother to Christine Gaiser (née Wadlinger), Joseph Wadlinger, and the late Edward Wadlinger Jr.

Mike was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where he graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and Temple University. He was a Lieutenant in the Philadelphia Fire Department where he served for 28 years.

Mike was known for his sense of humor, strong will, and love for sweets. Mike stayed active throughout his life. He loved to jog and workout at the gym. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and skiing with firefighters and family. After retirement he always looked forward to monthly breakfasts with the firefighter crew from Engine 6, Ladder 16. Later in life he was a regular at Arcadia Stay Fit Exercise Program. Mike loved nothing more than spending time with his family, friends, and living life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly.

Family and friends were invited to celebrate Mike’s life on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 9:00 A.M to 10:30 A.M. with his memorial service following at 10:30 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home. 419 Huntington Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Local #22 Widow’s Fund, 415 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 or the Arcadia University Dan Aaron Stay Fit Exercise Program, 450 South Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038.
