The following obituary was composed by Helene Knorr:

It is with great joy that I had my Mother for over 62 years and it is with great sadness that she passed away on October 31, 2022.
Elizabeth A. Bolden (née Deery) passed away Halloween morning in the comfort of her own home.
Mom was born May 9, 1939 at Temple Hospital. She was the fifth child of Edwin & Marie Deery. My mother was loved, raised and nurtured by Helen McDermott, my namesake. Her siblings Edwin, Jane, Catherine and Delores predeceased her. Mom was the last of the Deery clan. Raised on 7th Street near Lehigh, Mom attended St. Edward’s Parish and Little Flower High School (1957). During the spring of her junior year, Mom survived “coarctation of the aorta”, and walked out of Presbyterian Hospital, lipstick and all. She completed her senior year at Little Flower having graduated with Honors.
She, like many young girls of the late fifties, went to work at Central Penn Bank. During her dancing days, Mom met a sailor, Joseph G. Bolden, Jr. They married April 11, 1959 and Mom began her life as a new bride in New Orleans, Louisiana, a city she truly loved. I was born Valentines Day, 1960. Shortly after my birth, Mom had a hole repaired in her heart caused by childbirth. By 1963, our family was settled in Horsham. Like many Catholics in the area, she was active in the founding of St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
Mom is the proud grandmother of Megan Elizabeth Torpey (Jim), Kelly Ann Laba (Andrew) and Kimberly Helen Spaeter (Greg). Her girls are her joy and always shall be. However, the “Girls” had to share the spotlight with the “Great Grands”. Jimmy and Melissa Torpey, Zellie and Harrison Laba, and Garrett and Nathan Spaeter. Her heart was truly full.
Mom loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and wife. Our home was lovely. Mom’s greatest gift to me was her support at every corner.
Harry and I would like to thank the remarkable physicians through the years. She met her health head on and came back from deaths door more than once. I’d like to thank Abington Hospice for their care and devotion.

Services for Mom took place on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044.

Contributions to Rolling Harvest would be welcomed, 267-293-0085, PO Box 693, New Hope, PA 18938. Food insecurity is near and dear to my heart.
