David Haines Pope of Hatboro, Pennsylvania died Monday, December 19, 2022 at Gloria Dei Farms. He was 84 years old. David was born March 7, 1938 in Collingdale, Pennsylvania, the fourth of six children of the late Hiram Sylvanus Pope and the late Eunice Frances Pope (nee - Hatch). He is the beloved husband of 54 years of Barbara Blanche Pope (nee Northcote); devoted father of Wendi Rank and her husband Donald, David H. Pope and his wife Laura Walter, and Amy Beaver and her husband Jeremy; grandfather of 8. He is also the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews.

David was born, raised, and educated in Collingdale, PA. He was a graduate of Collingdale High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably for 26 years. David met Barbara while working for Greyhound as a bus driver. He would stop into the bank next door where she worked as a teller. One day, after receiving his promotional toaster, he turned around and invited Barbara to the Marine Corps Ball. She said yes, the two met for brief conversation that lasted three hours, and turned into a lifetime together. They were married January 18, 1969 at St. David Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northeast Philadelphia. They raised their family in Willow Grove, PA.

After his discharge from the Marine Corps, David learned the heating and air conditioning trade and started his own business, D. H. Pope Heating and Air. He enjoyed trips to the Outer Banks, NC, starting a family tradition early on, watching the Philadelphia Phillies with his beloved Barbara, volunteering for Caring for Friends, and later on joining the men at Gloria Dei Farms for their coffee hour.
