Herman F. Sauerbaum of Elkins Park, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Einstein Medical Center - Elkins Park. He was 93 years old. Herman was born May 4, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Herman Sauerbaum and the late Pauline Sauerbaum (nee - Ulmer). He is the beloved husband of 65 years of the late Elaine Ruth Sauerbaum; father of Chris and Dave Sauerbaum; brother of the late Robert Sauerbaum and the late Helen Newton.
Herman was born, raied, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Frankford High School and continued his education at Penn State University to become a draftsman. Herman worked for many years as a tool designer and draftsman for Pennwalt Stokes. It is here that he met Elaine Schneider his future wife. Herman has a strong faith, he was a loving husband and a devoted father. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and fixing things around the house.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Glenside United Church Of Christ, 2160 Wharton Road, Glenside, PA 19038. interment private.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Sonja Ingebritsen from Glenside United Church Of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to American Heart Association-American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
