Helmut H. G. Reiser passed away on Sunday February 5, 2023. Helmut was born in Falkenberg, Germany on April 23, 1932, the youngest of 3 boys to Ernst and Anna Reiser, (nee – Fletschock).
Helmut is the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Ruth V Reiser (of Kellinghusen, Germany); father of Michael (daughter in-law Claudia), Susan (son in-law Fernando) and grandfather “Opa” to Alena, Tyler, Alex and Ryan. Helmut resided for almost 60 years in the Roxborough area of Philadelphia.
As a young man, Helmut started his career as an apprentice in the ceramics/ pottery trade with Kupfermuhle Keramik (KMK) in Hohenlockstedt, Germany a small town close to Hamburg.
In 1956 Helmut immigrated to America with his eldest brother (Siegfried), joining their other brother (Willi-Horst). Helmut had a remarkable career as a Senior Corporate Chef with the Budd Company on W Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia.
Helmut was a long-time active member of Old Zion Lutheran Church of Philadelphia. He served many years on the Church council as well as prepared various holiday church dinners throughout the years. Helmut together with his wife enjoyed entertaining and hosting countless parties for friends and family. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, cruises and flea markets. Above all else, Helmut loved and cherished his family and many friends.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. and service at 11:00 A.M. at Old Zion Lutheran Church, 628 N Broad St., Philadelphia, PA.
