Our dear mother, Joan M. McKeown Chalmers of Harleysville, Pennsylvania died Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Horsham Center. She was 84 years old. As a mother she was generous, loving and kind. She enjoyed her trips to the casinos, took numerous cruises, and many trips to the islands. Her favorite pastime was playing any type of card and computer games, and especially pictionary with her children and grandkids. Joan was born September 18, 1938 in Abington, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late James L. McGee and the late Anna M. McGee (nee - Hillen). She is the loving mother of James McKeown and his wife Nancy, Michael McKeown and his wife Colleen, and Brian McKeown; grandmother of Melissa, Jimmy, Amanda, Danielle, Brittney, Caitlyn, Brian; great grandmother of Bradyn, Grayson, Audrey, Nora, Kieran, Olivia, Nolan, Eleanor; sister of Patrick McGee and his wife Mary Anne, Alice Harrington, the late Bernadette Newman, the late Annamae Hack, and the late James L. McGee Jr. Joan is also survived by her companion, Ken Chalmers, his daughter Patty Ravert and her husband Morris, his son Brian Ravert and his wife Kristin, Kevin Ravert and his wife Melinda, and Mike Ravert and his wife Kristin.

Joan graduated from Springfield High School where she was an avid field hockey player. She worked as a Customer Service Specialist for FMC Link Belt and Rexnord industries for twenty years.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. Skip Miller, St. Anne Roman Catholic Church, 2328 E. Lehigh Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to National Kidney Foundation, 1900 Market Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
