The following was composed by Dick’s family:

Richard William Sauder, 81, of Abington PA passed away in the presence of his loving wife Fran, on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Richard, lovingly known as Dick to all his family and friends, was born August 23,1941 and a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania. Dick was a graduate from Olney High School and attended Temple University, and held a license as an architect. He was an independent architect in Philadelphia, surrounding suburbs and New Jersey. His professional career achievements included multiple learning and religious institutions in and around the S. Jersey area, many Philadelphia Recreation and adult centers, condominiums, medical, retail and multi-family apartments and homes. His most recent design focused on the revitalization and design of the historic Divine Lorraine Hotel in Philadelphia.

Closer to his heart were the personal designs on each of his children’s homes, Taire Salon, and he was most proud of his children and his family. He loved his dogs, Court Tv and his mountain home where he enjoyed working around the property and fixing up his home.

Dick met Fran at a bar when she was there to pick up her father. Like a gentleman he asked her father if he could date Fran. They were married on April 1, 1967. Dick and Fran shared an amazing marriage, in his words, “They had a good run, got through it all, the good and bad, mostly all good, together, in love”. Dick was the beloved husband survived by his wife Frances M. Sauder, together they had 5 children and 9 grandchildren. Scott Sauder (Suzanne) Luke, Jake, Dylan, Douglas Sauder (Kristi) Tyler, Kerri. Beau Sauder (Jennifer), Jesse, Brett Sauder (Annemarie) Chase, Jaxon, Shay, Casie Sauder and Nugget. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph. He was preceded in death by his brother (Robert) and sister (Betty). He is also preceded in death by his Mother Marian and Father Irvin.

A visitation was held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00A.M. followed by personal sharing of memories and stories at Wetzel and Son, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA, 19090.

The Interment was held immediately after at Whitemarsh Memorial Park 1169 Limekiln Pk. Ambler, PA 19002.
