Margaret M. Herman of Glenside, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, April 7, 2023. She was 90 years old. Margaret was born December 6, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph James Tierney and the late Margaret Mary Tierney (nee - Vincent). She is the beloved wife of 59 years of the late William H. Herman Jr.; mother of Debbie Closson and her husband Ed, Billy Herman, and Karen Fisher; grandmother of Eric, Nicole and her husband Alex, Melissa and her husband Jorge, and Andrew; great grandmother of Mia, Julian, Atlas, Camila, and Odin; and the sister of Jean Tierney.

Margaret was the cafeteria manager at Abington High School for over twenty years. She dedicated more than 2,000 hours of her time to volunteering at Abington Hospital. She also volunteered at Queen of Peace Church, and participated in her local Rotary club. In addition to her volunteer work, Margaret loved to travel, and loved all social activities. Most of all, Margaret loved spending time with her family.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Queen of Peace Church, 820 North Hills Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038. Relatives and friends were also invited to her committal service on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Lawrence F. Crehan from Queen of Peace Church.
