Josephine E. "Jody" Bergan of Hatboro, Pennsylvania died Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. She was 76 years old. Jody was born April 17, 1947 in Burlington, New Jersey. She is the beloved wife of the late William F. Bergan; mother of William Bergan and his wife Julianne, Valerie Bergan and her boyfriend Andrew Gibbon, and the late Keith Bergan; grandmother of Stephanie Bergan and her boyfriend Connor Jaynes and Samantha Guarnaccia and her husband Nicholas. She is the soon to be great grandmother of a great granddaughter; sister in law of Kathryn Brennan, Francis Bergan and his wife the late Jeannie, Joseph Bergan and his wife Eileen, and the late Nancy and John Brennan. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, and by her dog “Elliemae” and grand-puppy “Puffy”. She was predeceased by her beloved aunt Florence Deets.
Jody raised her family in Warminster, PA and later moved to Hatboro in 2009. She worked in food service at William Tennent High School for over fifteen years. Jody enjoyed playing Bingo with her friends and neighbors and will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Relatives and friends were also invited to her viewing on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:50 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at St. John Bosco Church, 235 East County Line Road, Hatboro, PA 19040. Her graveside service followed at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Montgomery County SPCA, 19 East Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
