Ruth L. Scott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away Monday, May 8, 2023 at Deer Meadows. She was 90 years old. Ruth was born October 1, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Adolph C. Eisemann and the late Mary J. Eisemann. She is the beloved wife of the late Arthur M. Scott; mother of Janet Choroneko and her husband Michael, Richard Scott and his wife Sheila, Cheryl Patton and her husband Robert, and Carol Carmon and her husband Daniel; grandmother of 6; great grandmother of 5; and sister of Evelyn Hess.

Ruth left school when she was 16 years old and took a job at Apex Hosary in order to help support her family. She met her husband Arthur in 1949 at a Youth for Christ roller skating party, and they’ve rolled around together ever since! Ruth was a woman of very deep faith, and she lived her life in service to the lord. She was devoted to her work as a church secretary, which she did for over twenty years. Ruth was also a very accomplished soprano singer. She sang in several church choirs, and also played the organ. She was passionate about doing work with youth groups with her late husband Arthur. She was a member of the board and a longtime manager of Seaside Home in Cape May, NJ, a Christian women’s retreat. Ruth loved making floral arrangements, which she happily did for all family weddings and special events. She was also an avid reader. Above all else, Ruth adored spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and funeral service at 12:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. A burial was held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Seaside Home, 201 Grant Street, Cape May, NJ 08204
