Patricia Ann "Patty" Zayas of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18, 2023. She was 60 years old. Patty was born February 16, 1963 in Philadelphia, PA daughter of the late John Gorman and the late Florence (nee Myers) Gorman. She is the beloved wife of Gary M. Zayas Sr.; mother of Mary Peterson, Gary M. Zayas Jr. and his wife Kimberly, and John Zayas and his wife Taryn; grandmother of Blaze, Angel, Trey, Ava, Jayden, Taylor, and Clara; sister of Billy Gorman, Charles Gorman, Mary Mazzoni, the late Florence Gorman, and the late John Gorman.

Patty was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She grew up in the Feltonville section of the city and was a graduate of Frankford High School. She and Gary met and fell in love in 1985. The two were wed on February 14, 1986 at city hall. They raised their family in the Lawncrest section of the city. Patty worked for nearly thirty years for the School District of Philadelphia holding many positions helping the kids and teachers at Olney Elementary. She was an active member of Crescentville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, led Bible Study classes, and assisted with the youth Summer programs. She enjoyed writing and was an avid reader in her free time. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.  Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Charles Dear from Crescentville Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Crescentville Baptist Church, 521 East Godfrey Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120-2123
