Catherine Patricia "Katie" Mele of Norwich, Connecticut passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Backus Hospital. She was 29 years old. Katie was born October 21, 1993 in Plano, Texas, daughter of Joseph McCarthy and Loretta McCarthy (nee - Witkoski). She is the beloved wife of George Ryan Mele, mother of Dean Brendan Mele; sister of Christina Bergin and her husband Brian, Brendan McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy, and Jonathan McCarthy; aunt of five. She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends- most especially by her Aunt Katie and her lifelong friend Montanna.
Katie was raised and educated in Atco, NJ. She was a graduate of Hammonton High School. Katie always enjoyed helping people and making them laugh. Her greatest joy was playing with her son Dean.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. and funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Hope Against Heroin, 2109 Clover Mill Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
