The following obituary was written by Michael’s family

Michael R. Dillon of Hatboro passed away suddenly July 23, 2023. He was 74 years old. Michael leaves his wife of almost 50 years, Barbara Furchtenicht Dillon, their son Brian (Gina), their daughter Kristina Dillon Hierholzer, and their daughter Tiffany Dillon (Chet McCarty, (life partner). He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashlea Hierholzer, Tara Hierholzer, Dillon McCarty, Hayli McCarty, Chase McCarty, Zander McCarty, and Lex Ludlow. Michael is also survived by his sister Lynne Heiduk (Heinz) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is predeceased by his father John F. Dillon and his mother Mildred B. DeHaven.

Michael was a 1967 graduate of Upper Moreland High School and attended Pennsylvania Military College. He went on to serve 4 years in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged, having reached the rank of Sergeant. He served in Cherry Point, NC, Vietnam, and Iwakuni, Japan.

Michael worked as an Electrical Wiring Technician and also for Caloric and Amana Corporations.

At a young age Michael discovered the game of golf and became an avid player and enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to Cape Cod, the Bahamas, and Southern California. He especial enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ with his family.

Michael’s sense of humor and keen wit will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Wayside Chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1151 Horsham Road, Ambler, PA 19002. His graveside service followed. Military honors were rendered by the United States Marine Corps, at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
