The following obituary was composed by Christoph’s family:

Christoph Johannes Wagner of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, was a pillar in many people's lives. He was the father of Benjamin Wagner, brother to Stephan Wagner (Martina), Daniel Wagner, Michael Steinmetz (Gabi), and brother-in-law to Toby Sauer (Tracy) and Magdalene Sauer. Most importantly, he was the wonderful husband to Mechthild "Misty" Wagner. Additionally, he had 20 nieces and nephews in Germany and Minnesota.

Unfortunately, at 58 years old, Christoph passed of heart failure on August 2nd, 2023. He was born on May 11, 1965 in Asperg, Germany, son of Adolf Wagner and the late Sonja Wagner. He lived an extraordinary life, growing up and marrying in Möglingen, Germany. He attended the Max-Eyth Technical School in Stuttgart, Germany, where he trained as a technical engineer, graduating at the top of his class. He served compulsory time in the German Air Force and worked for Robert Bosch GmbH and Behr Thermot-tronik in Germany.

After immigrating to the USA after marrying, he continued his career working for WCB Ice Cream, Gram Equipment, and Superior Ice Cream Equipment, where he developed equipment for ice cream production. Christoph sang with the choir at St. Paul's Lutheran Church and skillfully designed projects for the church. Throughout his life, Christoph's hobbies included woodworking, gardening, cinema, cooking, walking, traveling (especially to Germany), and spending time with his family.

Christoph always put his family first, especially Benjamin. He loved attending Ben's school and sports events, discussing the news and movies, and eating sushi together. His dry sense of humor, generous spirit, and kind heart bonded all his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 120 North Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038. A brief committal service was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, immediately following the memorial service.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Henrik Sonntag from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - Greater Delaware Valley Chapter, 555 Croton Road, Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA 19406
