Mildred L. Armstrong of Abington, Pennsylvania passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Jefferson Abington Hospital.  Mildred was born October 24, 1931 in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Louis and Louisa Pearson (nee - Knight).  She is the beloved wife of 70 years of J. Warner Armstrong; loving mother of Joyce A. Gavin and her husband Tim, Jim Armstrong, David Armstrong and his wife Nancy, and Thomas Armstrong and his wife Penny. Predeceased by one grandchild and survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mildred graduated from Upper Moreland High School. She was a Drum Majorette for the Upper Moreland Marching Band and was an “Eaglette” in 1948, which was their first year with the Philadelphia Eagles. Mildred was a master at needlework. In addition, she loved to travel and she loved her Philadelphia Phillies!  Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her wonderful and loving husband, Warner.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 11:00 to 11:30 A.M. and funeral service at 11:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Burial was private.  In lieu of flowers, if you like, please make donations in Millie’s honor to Samaritan’s Purse.
