Patricia “Patti” Ann Wirsz of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. She was 82 years old. Patti was born June 20, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Herbert Mike Stuart and the late Marie Stuart (nee - Franz). She is the loving mother of Michael Wirsz and James Wirsz (Shein Dossa); the sister of the late Frank Sechowicz (the late Frances); aunt of Diane (Jim) and Tom (Tom); great aunt of Andrea (the late Jerrod) and the late Louis; and great great aunt of Arianna and Cailyn. Patti is also survived by other extended family, as well as her “grand-dog”, Andy. She will be sadly missed by many close, dear friends.

A lifelong resident of Philadelphia, Patti was born and raised in the Brewerytown section of the city. She went to school at St Ludwig’s Church Parish, and then John W. Hallahan Catholic Girl’s High School. Patti was employed as a dental assistant for about 40 years, and was very passionate about and devoted to her work.

Patti loved shopping (particularly at Boscov’s and the Dollar Store), movies, enjoying a good meal, animals (particularly all the pets her family had over the years). Patti was very social and talkative; she was known for being prepared for long car rides or visits with family and friends with a list of “talking points” (things she wanted to ask about or bring up in conversation). She loved the Jersey shore, particularly Wildwood, where she enjoyed many summers with her family. Patti celebrated every holiday, which was reflected in her attire. Throughout her life, Patti was a very spiritual person. Beyond all else, Patti loved her family. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and spending time with her family and her friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. and Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M. at St. William Church, 6200 Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Patti’s name to the charity of your choice devoted to helping animals or people with cancer.
