Elizabeth W. "Libby" Fairchild of Bensalem, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Nazareth Hospital. She was 78 years old. Libby was born January 24, 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late John J. Walter and the late Edna G. Walter Fitzpatrick (nee - Bill). She is the beloved wife of William “Bill” Stafford; Devoted mother to Danny Smith (Renée), Jody Sadusky (Joe), and Melissa Vergantino (Bill); step-mother of William Stafford (Lorrie), and Michael Stafford (Justine); loving grandmother of Jordan (Brittany), Justin, Gabriella (Ryan), and William; step-grandmother of the late Jim Sadusky, Mark, Billy, Bobby, Holy Wilson and McKenzie; great grandmother of Giabella; sister of John Anthony “Tony” Walter (Midge), the late Stephen Walter, Joanne Walter, and Gretchen Stratton.

Libby was raised and educated in the Hollywood section of Abington Township, PA. She attended Bryn Athyn Schools and graduated from Abington High School. She went to work at Lower Bucks Hospital for several years. During her time at the hospital, she noticed a need for off-site drug testing. She started her own company doing drug testing for various companies and government agencies. She grew her company making it a success for over 25 years.

She and Bill met at a coffee shop in 1998. Together, they enjoyed traveling to many places including LBI, Sanibel, Portugal, Spain, and a special family trip to Tuscany. Her favorite past times were reading and going out to eat with her friends and family.

Libby had a genuine interest in everyone she met and touched the lives of so many people with her sincerity and compassion. Despite her health challenges throughout the past few years, she somehow managed to take the focus off of herself while making everyone around her feel special. She will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 10:00 to 10:55 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Along the Way, PO Box 711, Souderton, PA 18964.
