Barbara Meissner of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Monday, November 6, 2023 at her home. She was 96 years old. Barbara was born April 26, 1927 in Leiselheim, Germany, daughter of the late Georg Beck and the late Antonie Beck. She was pre-deceased by her longtime companion James Seifert and her husband Hans Meissner; loving mother of Lillian Norbeck-McGrath and her husband William; grandmother of Francis and his wife Stacy, Robert, and Andrew and his wife Sharon Norbeck; great grandmother of Alexandra, Tyler, Jamie, Matthew, Keira, and Marissa.
She emigrated to the United States with her daughter in 1949. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Infana Knitting Mill and other Knitting Mills in the area. She enjoyed spending time at Lake Mathilde, in Sicklersville, NJ. A vacation spot for her family for many years. She also enjoyed traveling with Hans and later James to places such as Germany, Rome, Italy, France and the islands.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. and funeral service at 1:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her entombment followed at 2:00 P.M. at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
