Dolores A. McPoyle of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at home. She was 87 years old. Dolores was born December 20, 1935 in Minersville, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Jerome Pivnickas and the late Victoria Pivnickas (nee - Hoysock). She is the beloved wife of the late Philip McPoyle; mother of Maureen O’Neill, Philip J. McPoyle, Irene Mahon and her husband Pearse, and Thomas McPoyle and his wife Kellie; grandmother of 11; great grandmother of 1; sister of Geraldine Miller and Victoria Wozniak. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Dolores was raised and educated in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Overbrook High School. She met Phil at a dance at Chez Vous in the city. The two were married in 1959 at Maternity BVM Parish in Philadelphia. Phil and Dolores were members at Presentation BVM parish in Cheltenham for more than 60 years. They raised their children in the Lawndale section of the city. Dolores enjoyed working at Sears on Roosevelt Boulevard once the kids were in school. She was a member of the Artisans and later became active at St. William’s Seniors. She was an active part of her children and grandchildren’s lives.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. William S. Harrison from Presentation B. V. M. Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.
