The following obituary was composed by Rachel’s family:

Rachel (Roddy) Alexander, of Elkins Park, PA, died unexpectedly but peacefully on December 24, 2023. She was born September 21, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by her parents, Gregory and Carol Roddy, sister Jennifer (Marc) Spector, brother Joel Roddy, nephew Jacob Spector, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son David Roddy.

Rachel was a talented freelance artist, and loved to work helping people, whether it was at the front desk of a national park lodge, helping shut-in seniors to find transportation services, or answering questions on the phone.

She also loved to travel, and both lived and traveled many places. She had friends from all over the world, including her dear friend Jeff Gold, and was devoted to her sweet cat Luna.

Rachel was a sweet and loving soul who always saw the best in others. We will miss her terribly.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 9:00 to 9:50 A.M. and Memorial Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. William S. Harrison from Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Philabundance, 3616 South Galloway Street, Philadelphia, PA 19148
