The following obituary was composed by Jules’ family:

Julius “Jules” P. Fischer, Jr., of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania died Friday, January 12, 2024 at his home. He was 86 years old. The son of the late Julius P. Fischer and late Helen Fischer. He is the beloved husband of Patricia Fischer (nee Mellon); father of Patricia DePetris (David), William Fischer (Teresa) and James Fischer. Jules is the loving grandfather (Opa) of Allison, Sean, Caitlin and Ryan Fischer. He was known for his kindness and humor. He was a loving dad and husband and provided a great life for his family

Jules grew up on Levick Street in Philadelphia with his parents and three sisters. He worked for Bell Telephone for many years and then AT&T. After retiring from AT&T, Jules started a new career as a consultant for Verizon. He also served his country as a reservist with the Navy and the Marines. Jules loved technology and enjoyed working in the telecommunications field.

Jules and Pat were married for 62 years. Most of all, Jules liked spending time with his family. While raising their children, Jules and Pat enjoyed vacations at the Delaware Beaches, picnics with their extended family and attending double-header Phillies games at the Vet. For many years, they hosted the “FischerFest” an all-day celebration of his German heritage with good beer and German food at their home. Friends and family came year after year and looked forward to the annual tradition.

Jules was proud of his German-American heritage and was a Director at the Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein on Academy Road in Philadelphia. Many happy times and family celebrations were had at the “club.” He was also a member of Vereinigung Erzgebirge in Warminster.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. and memorial service at 12:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths.
