Liaura "Lia" DeMarco Bass of Ambler, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Jefferson Abington Hospital after a sudden illness. She was 49 years old. Lia was born April 16, 1974 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joyce DeMarco, beloved granddaughter of the late Joseph and the late Mildred “Millie” DeMarco. She is the beloved wife of seven and half years of Michael Bolger; sister of Christine Weir; aunt of Christopher Black, Michaela Maldonado and Eric William Kosh. niece of Jeanne and her husband Mark Nelson, Joanne and her husband Phillip Poli and Janis DeMarco; cousin of Jennifer Nelson, Alex Poli and Alena Poli. She was also the loving cat mom to Salsybear.

Lia was born, raised, and educated in Abington where she was a graduate of Abington High School. Lia worked for many years as the Hospitality Coordinator at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA assisting in the needs of the various entertainers. She was also a bartender at Gypsy Blu in Ambler, PA. In her free time, Lia was an avid reader and loved trivia. She was very gregarious and was always the one to bring friends together.

Lia loved her cat but was also a friend of all animals, keeping her family and friends entertained with stories of stray cats and the occasional raccoon or other wild animal she tried assisting. Lia will be greatly missed by all who got to know and love her.

Relatives and friends were invited to a celebration of Lia’s life on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Keswick Theatre, 291 North Keswick Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038 and to a reception at 1:00 P.M. at Gypsy Blu, 34 East Butler Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002.
