Claudette B. "Midge" Walter of Rydal, Pennsylvania died Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her home. She was 83 years old. Midge was born July 12, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late George Bingham and the late Norine Bingham (nee - Lehe). She is the beloved wife of 62 years of John Anthony “Tony” Walter; loving mother of Tony Walter Jr. and his wife Maureen, Lisa Donnelly and her husband Billy, and Sharon Dotson and her husband Lenny; grandmother of Ethan and Graham Walter, Miranda Campioni and her husband Gino, Lyneé Cottrell and her husband Luke, Jacob and Larissa Dotson; great grandmother of Charlotte Campioni and Lane Cottrell; sister of Gail McClay and Bonnie Emillius.

Midge was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Northeast High School and continued her education at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. She and Tony were childhood sweethearts. They were married in September of 1961 at Bryn Athyn Cathedral. They bought Lores Chocolates in 1988 and ran it along with their son for more than 25 years before her retirement. Midge was a talented artist and watercolor was her favorite medium. She also enjoyed collecting rocks and seashells from places she visited and encouraged family and friends to add to her collection. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 9:30 to 11:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Luncheon immediately followed the service.

Religious services were conducted by Pastor Scott Karge from Riverside Chapel, 500 West Front Street, Florence, NJ 08518.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
